In addition to his cartoons, Laxman also wrote numerous books, including novels and collections of his cartoons. He received several prestigious awards for his work, including the Padma Bhushan, which is the third-highest civilian award in India. Laxman's illustrations had a significant impact on Indian society and politics, often providing social commentary and highlighting the absurdities of everyday life. He passed away in 2015, leaving behind a rich legacy in Indian cartooning.
