However, over the centuries, the structure suffered damage due to various factors, including earthquakes and looting. Today, only fragments of the original mausoleum remain, with many of its sculptures and architectural elements now housed in museums around the world. Nevertheless, the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus remains an important historical and cultural landmark, recognized for its influence on subsequent mausoleum and tomb design.
